Most of the time it feels like AI is moving faster than I can keep up. I catch headlines and I find myself both excited and completely overwhelmed. And then I start wondering how anyone can make sense of it all, let alone use it responsibly.

That’s exactly why I’m launching Human Intelligence. My aim is to create a space where we can slow down, break things down, and focus on what truly matters: keeping people at the heart of AI. I know there are literally thousands of exceptional AI sources out there—trust me, I’m constantly reading them. My goal is not to add to the noise, but to provide a voice of reason, or shall we say… human intelligence?

According to Merriam-Webster, intelligence is defined as “the ability to learn or understand or to deal with new or trying situations” and “the skilled use of reason.”

Artificial intelligence, as defined by Merriam-Webster, refers to a branch of computer science focused on simulating intelligent behavior in computers. It also describes the capability of a machine to imitate intelligent human behavior.

In the context of this blog, intelligence is not solely about problem-solving or efficiency, nor is it a choice between human and artificial intelligence. It’s funny, but I used to take intelligence for granted, believing it was purely human and understood in a narrow sense. Research has debunked this theory, and we are now exploring a wide variety of intelligence types. 

Human Intelligence is about exploring what it means to be human and keep using our human intelligence in the age of AI.
