Reading Time: 4 minutes

Most of the time it feels like AI is moving faster than I can keep up. I catch headlines and I find myself both excited and completely overwhelmed. And then I start wondering how anyone can make sense of it all, let alone use it responsibly.

That’s exactly why I’m launching Human Intelligence. My aim is to create a space where we can slow down, break things down, and focus on what truly matters: keeping people at the heart of AI. I know there are literally thousands of exceptional AI sources out there—trust me, I’m constantly reading them. My goal is not to add to the noise, but to provide a voice of reason, or shall we say… human intelligence?

The Mission of Human Intelligence Blog

I’m proud to launch the inaugural post of Human Intelligence. This blog has a clear mission, as I believe this topic is incredibly important.

What is Intelligence? (And Why it Matters Now)

Let’s start with the basics. In the world of large language models, I’m have a newfound appreciation of words and definitions. But let’s go to the source – Merriam-Webster.

According to Merriam-Webster, intelligence is defined as “the ability to learn or understand or to deal with new or trying situations” and “the skilled use of reason.”

What is Artificial Intelligence? A Quick Overview

Artificial intelligence, as defined by Merriam-Webster, refers to a branch of computer science focused on simulating intelligent behavior in computers. It also describes the capability of a machine to imitate intelligent human behavior.

What is Human Intelligence in the Age of AI?

In the context of this blog, intelligence is not solely about problem-solving or efficiency, nor is it a choice between human and artificial intelligence. It’s funny, but I used to take intelligence for granted, believing it was purely human and understood in a narrow sense. Research has debunked this theory, and we are now exploring a wide variety of intelligence types

Human Intelligence is about exploring what it means to be human and keep using our human intelligence in the age of AI.

Who this AI Blog is for?

Human Intelligence is for curious minds who want to understand AI from a balanced, human-centered perspective. It’s for real people, not just tech experts, who want to make sense of what’s happening in the world of AI without getting lost in the hype.

This blog speaks to the “scrappy developer” and the citizen developer in the FileMaker community. These are people who love solving problems, building solutions, and pushing the platform to its limits. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting your FileMaker journey, this space is designed to help you navigate AI responsibly while enhancing your creativity and productivity.

It’s also for artists, creatives, and anyone eager to grow their intellect. If you’re someone who values innovation but refuses to lose sight of the human element, this blog is for you. Together, we’ll explore how technology can amplify, not replace, human intelligence, keeping people at the heart of every decision.
